Among Us – The Skeld Location Guide

The Skeld is arguably the most popular and most iconic Among Us map, and depicts a massive spaceship with various pieces of technology and research that can be found all around the area. Knowing the Skeld is extremely important, such as where tasks are, vent routes and all the most important parts of the ship. In this guide, we go over the Skeld.

History

The Skeld was the first map added to Among Us and was the only map for over a year. It depicted a large and grand space shuttle, with a ton of rooms and space, and remains as the most popular map in the game. During the annual Halloween events, the rooms were decked with spooky decorations, and during April Fools, the map was temporarily replaced with ehT dlekS, a backwards version of the map were everything was flipped.

Rooms And Areas

Admin

Admin is a small office by the cafeteria. There’s a large table in there that shows you how many people are in each room, so it’s pretty great for checking if anyone died. The task there happens to involve swiping a credit card of sorts, and has become notorious for being a difficult challenge. There’s also an O2 station so if anything goes wrong with the O2, you can easily reset it from the admin room.

Cafeteria

This is the spawning room after starting a game on the Skeld. It’s a nice yet empty cafeteria, but it also has the Emergency Meeting button, where players can host a meeting if they have found evidence or want to vote someone out of the game. If you run into an impostor using a vent, in say, the communications room, it may take a bit of time to run to the cafeteria to start a meeting, and by then, the impostor may have already used a vent to go faster and kill you.

Communications

Communications (Otherwise known as comms) has only 1 task, but has a pretty cool sabotaging feature. Sabotaging communications means that you can’t view your task list and the security cameras are disabled. Thankfully, you can fix the dilemma by channeling the audio by the back monitor in the room.

Special Feature | Audio Channeling

Electrical

Electrical is notorious for being a place to die in. It’s hard to see, lights can be messed with and sabotaged and there are a bunch of tasks next to a well-hidden vent. Most of the time, it is necessary to go into electrical, so be sure to bring a pal with you so impostors can’t kill you or else they would have a witness.

Lower Engine

Lower Engine isn’t a very popular area, and it only has 1 task and 1 vent. You will likely never see people visit this room.

Medbay

Medbay is the medic room by the cafeteria. It’s most famous for it’s scanning task, which is a visual task. This means that crewmates can see you do the tasks, ergo, they can verify you are a crewmate and not an impostor trying to pretend he’s not. The task also gives some pretty cool info on the biological origins of the Among Us characters, which is pretty cool.

Navigation

Navigation is located on the far right, and is supposed to be the cockpit. There’s a weird inbalance of things, as there’s way too many tasks and vents but not a very large space to do them in. It kind of makes it feel awkward, but it’s a fine location nonetheless.

O2

O2 is the oxygen center in the east of the Skeld. Here, there are 3 tasks and a sabotage option: Oxygen Depletion. With this sabotage, crewmates will have to flock to Admin AND O2 to restore oxygen, so be wise about crewmate whereabouts when planning an oxygen depletion.

Reactor

Reactor is one of the biggest rooms on the Skeld, and has 2 vents and 2 tasks for the north and south sides of the room. The sabotage option here is that you can trigger a reactor meltdown, which will attract crewmates to this room with the intent to fix it.2

Security

Security is a pretty popular room, and allows you to have a birds-eye view on the entire spaceship. Well, not the entire spaceship. There are 4 cameras planted around the map, and if you turn on the security computer, you can take a look at all of them. It’s quite rare that someone will kill in the hallways, and the way to tell if the cameras are on is if there is a red light on them.

Shields

Shields is one of the most irrelevant rooms, with only 2 tasks and a single, open vent.

Upper Engine

Upper Engine, like the lower one, isn’t a very popular area, and is one of the most mundane, with drab colors and no special features. There is a vent, but it’s pretty open so killing may be hard in this specific room.

Weapons is one of the closest rooms to the cafeteria, and is quite notable for it’s Clear Asteroids task, a visual task.
