The Fortnite lobby is home to every important part of the game, from outfit and hero selection, to viewing your progression and Battle Pass challenges, to viewing the daily cosmetic and hero shop, it seems like there’s so much to do in the Fortnite lobby, and you can get lost customizing every part of the lobby. So, in this guide, we go over the Fortnite lobby, in both Save The World and Battle Royale.
Save The World
Quests is where you start off after queuing up Save The World. It shows your campaign progression, the current questlines available and some extra quest info. I have no idea why it’s the starting tab, but it is nonetheless.
Map is where you can go into different regions and queue up for a mission. It’s also serves as a pretty cool look at the Fortnite world, so there’s a ton of exploring to be had here.
Command is where you can view your surviviors, defenders, heroes and other people that you have collected to join your homebase. You can assign them to squads and loadouts and you can even manage upgrades and research progress! Everything you need to keep track on Homebase’s progression.
Armory allows you to manage and equip schematics and items, as well as additional resources. There’s also the collection book, where you can view every collectible item in the game, from costumed survivors to rare schematics to event heroes!
Locker is where you can change your cosmetic loadout, and you can have up to 10 loadouts at once. There’s a lot you can do here if you unlocked enough cosmetic items, to the point where you can get lost for hours just messing with cosmetic combos. Unlike in Battle Royale’s locker, you cannot equip gliders, contrails or other aerial-based cosmetics.
Llama Shop is where you can purchase and browse the various items offered, like llamas, heroes, defenders and schematics. If you earned a llama, you can beat the living daylight out of it here.
Store is where you can purchase V-Bucks. Think of it kind of as a bank of sorts. You can also purchase the latest starter pack, which is the Powerhouse pack, according to this dandy screenshot.
The main lobby is where you start off after queuing up Battle Royale. It shows off your character casually standing in front of a background. These backgrounds have altered throughout Fortnite’s lifetime, usually changing in accordance with the theme of whatever season it was. You can also view your challenges and your Battle Pass level from here. To queue up into a match, press the mode button to switch LTMs and press the ready button to queue up. You can also manage big-team squads when playing with up to 16 players in a party.
The Battle Pass tab is where you can view your Battle Pass progression and challenges. Ever since Chapter 2, Season 2, the Battle Pass has changed in accordance with seasonal themes and now includes interactive menus. As you can see, you can view the Battle Pass, view challenges via the challenge table, manage punchcards and even read a comic book, which is the prelude to Season 4.
Compete is where you can view information about tournaments and cups, such as cash prizes and rewards, dates and other important information.
Locker is where you can change your cosmetic loadout, and you can have up to 10 loadouts at once. There’s a lot you can do here if you unlocked enough cosmetic items, to the point where you can get lost for hours just messing with cosmetic combos. Unlike Save The World’s locker, you CAN equip gliders and contrails!
The Item Shop is home to rotating cosmetics, where you can purchase them with V-Bucks. There are a few categories, and recently, the Item Shop got a wonderful-looking makeover making the new UI much more simplistic. You can read more about the Item Shop here.
Career is where you can view statistical features about your account, such as achievements you’ve earned, Victory Royales earned and you can even replay your most recent matches to make cinematic masterpieces!
V-Bucks is where you can purchase V-Bucks. Pretty self-explanatory. There’s also a promotion going on with Disney+ at the moment.
