Apex Legends – Gamemode List And Descriptions

This is the Apex Legends LTM list. These LTMs, also known as Limited-Time Modes, are gamemodes in Apex Legends that usually take the standard formula and add a twist! It could change a slight detail, make a huge change to the gameplay or be made to coincide with an event! In this guide, we go over all the LTMs in Apex Legends and some information about them.

Always Be Closing

Always Be Closing, one of the seven modes released during Season 3’s Grand Soiree event, has normal Apex gameplay but the infamous Ring never stops closing, leaving for intense chases and getaways. It’s also a lot more dangerous.

Armed And Dangerous On World’s Edge

Armed and Dangerous on World’s Edge, one of the seven modes released during Season 3’s Grand Soiree event, and during Season 2’s Voidwalker event, has only snipers and shotguns with limited armor, all on World’s Edge.

Battle Armor

During the event rotation, only one armor type would be available, and players would drop into the match with it already equipped. Players also dropped with a P2020 equipped with a 1x Holo Sight. All armor was removed from the loot pool, but shield cells and batteries, as well as all the other loot were still available. There have been 4 levels. The 1st had Common shields, the 2nd had Rare ones. The 3rd had Epic armor, and finally, on level 4, players bore Evo shields.

Déjà Loot

Preset loot, daily Ring circle, daily care package drops and more. This mode ran during Season 4’s System Override event and had the first week on World’s Edge and the second on King’s Canyon.

DUMMIE’s Big Day

DUMMIE’s Big Day, one of the seven modes released during Season 3’s Grand Soiree event has the DUMMIE characters from the Firing Range mode replacing the legends in normal Apex fashion, making for some pretty funny encounters.

Duos

You and a friend team up to be the last squad of 2 standing.

Elite Queue

This mode, released in Season 1, became playable to those who reached Top 5 in an Apex match.

Firing Range

A small area on King’s Canyon with firing ranges, DUMMIEs, a whole lot of loot, easter eggs locales and more, and with the ability to change legends to try them out, test out weapons or challenge your aim.

Gold Rush Duos

Gold Rush Duos, one of the seven modes released during Season 3’s Grand Soiree event, has you and a partner surrounded by gold weapons only. 

Live. Die. Live

Live. Die. Live, one of the seven modes released during Season 3’s Grand Soiree event, has you respawning on your squad every time the Ring closes. 

King’s Canyon After Dark

King’s Canyon After Dark, one of the seven modes released during Season 3’s Grand Soiree event, has normal Apex gameplay on King’s Canyon but after dark. 

King’s Canyon Season 1

Normal Apex gameplay but on King’s Canyon in Season 1.

King’s Canyon Season 2

Normal Apex gameplay but on King’s Canyon in Season 2.

Quests

Quests, a new addition to Season 5, are in a PVE setting where the player and his friends must battle enemies and find relics to deliver to Loba, with different chapters to advance upon the narrative of Season 5.

Ranked Leagues

Similar to Duos and Squads, but with skill-based matchmaking and different ranks to climb up upon.

Shadowfall

Released during the Fight or Fright event, Shadowfall has people to enter a spooky King’s Canyon where dead legends respawn as shadows to hunt down surviving players and team up with dead shadows. The last 10 players then team up to escape on a dropship and escape the shadows.

Shooting Gallery

Taking place in a modified version of the arena in the Training gamemode, Shooting Gallery allows you to choose any legend in-match, practice with any gun, practice killing with the DUMMIEs and just practicing in general.

Solos

Normal Apex gameplay, but everyone is own their own. Playable during the Iron Crown event from Season 2.

Third-Person Mode

Third-Person Mode, one of the seven modes released during Season 3’s Grand Soiree event, has normal Apex gameplay but in third-person, as opposed to the typical first-person.

Training

Training is Apex Legends’ tutorial, where you play as Lifeline and learn the ropes from Bloodhound and Pathfinder in a special area in King’s Canyon.

Trios

The basic gamemode. You, along with 2 friends fight 19 squads of three to be the last one standing.

Winter Express

Released during the Holo-Day Bash event, the Winter Express gamemode has teams fight over the winter express train to capture it. Everyone has predetermined loadouts and they respawn each round.
